Arevon Energy, a company based in Arizona, has commenced the construction of the Cormorant Energy Storage Project in Daly City, California. This project, valued at $600 million, is designed to have a capacity of 250 MW/1,000 MWh and is expected to become
operational next year. The project will utilize lithium iron phosphate battery technology and is contracted under a long-term agreement with MCE, an electricity provider serving over 1.8 million customers in several counties. The construction is anticipated to employ approximately 175 workers at its peak and is projected to generate over $73 million in property tax revenue, benefiting local schools and infrastructure.
