What's Happening?
InCoax Networks AB has launched the D2508 ER, a new platform designed to extend fiber-based broadband over existing coaxial networks in mid- to large-sized multi-dwelling units (MDUs). This platform is part of InCoax's D-series and is tailored for high-density
deployments, offering symmetrical broadband services up to 2.5 Gbps per coax port. The D2508 ER aims to reduce the need for new in-building wiring, enabling faster deployment and lower capital expenditure. It supports up to 248 network termination devices, making it suitable for various building sizes and deployment requirements.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the D2508 ER platform addresses a significant need in the broadband market for efficient and cost-effective solutions to upgrade existing infrastructure. By leveraging existing coaxial networks, InCoax offers a practical alternative to fiber installations, which can be costly and disruptive. This innovation is particularly relevant for property owners and service providers looking to enhance internet services without extensive renovations. The platform's ability to coexist with legacy TV services and DOCSIS 3.0 further enhances its appeal, providing a seamless transition to higher-speed internet for residents.
What's Next?
InCoax is likely to focus on expanding its market presence by targeting property developers and internet service providers interested in upgrading their broadband offerings. The company may also explore partnerships with telecom operators to integrate the D2508 ER into broader service packages. As demand for high-speed internet continues to grow, InCoax's platform could play a crucial role in meeting consumer expectations and supporting digital transformation in residential settings.
