Natrion, an American battery materials company, is set to begin production of defense-optimized battery cells for uncrewed systems. The new product lines, Cirrus and Stratus, feature anode-free and lithium-metal architectures, respectively, and are based
on Natrion's proprietary Active Separator material. These cells are designed for various platforms, including drones and ground vehicles, offering nearly 80% greater energy density than conventional lithium-ion alternatives. The development is part of Natrion's ongoing partnerships with the U.S. Air Force and Navy, which have awarded the company multiple contracts.
