What's Happening?
The annual Grapes on the Green wine tasting event is set to return to Northbrook for its fourth year on June 20. This event, held at Village Green Park, is sponsored by the Village of Northbrook and the Northbrook Park District. It offers an adults-only
evening featuring various wine tastings, games, light bites, and live music by guitarist and vocalist Peter Warren. The event was created in response to the community's desire for adult-focused activities and has become a popular summer tradition. Tasting tickets are priced at $49, providing attendees with 12 one-ounce wine samples, a signature wine glass, and a snack box. Non-tasting tickets are available for $30. The event is part of Northbrook's 125th-anniversary celebrations, highlighting the community's vibrant spirit.
Why It's Important?
Grapes on the Green is significant as it fosters community engagement and supports local businesses. By offering a platform for local wine retailers like Chicago Wine, the event promotes small business growth and provides exposure to diverse wine selections. It also enhances the cultural fabric of Northbrook by offering a unique social experience that attracts both wine enthusiasts and casual attendees. The event's success over the years underscores the community's appreciation for such gatherings, contributing to the local economy and reinforcing Northbrook's identity as a vibrant and welcoming community.
What's Next?
As the event approaches, organizers are preparing for a large turnout, similar to previous years. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating due to limited availability. The event's continued success may lead to further expansions or additional similar events in the future, enhancing Northbrook's cultural offerings. Local businesses and community leaders will likely continue to support and promote such events, recognizing their value in community building and economic stimulation.
