The Homewood-Flossmoor (H-F) girls track team has successfully defended its state championship title, tying with Edwardsville for the top spot. The championship, held on May 23, saw the Vikings score in 10 different events, accumulating 76 points despite
the absence of two key athletes, Junior Kaiya Collier and Senior Mariyah Robinson. The team showcased its depth and resilience, with standout performances including the 800-meter relay team of Khloe Daniels, London Willingham, London Jarrett, and Aniya Mullins, who set a state record. The Vikings also excelled in field events, with notable contributions from Jaloni Wiley in shot put and discus, and Diamond Childress in the 100-meter hurdles. The final event, the 1,600-meter relay, was crucial in securing the tie, with H-F finishing third and Edwardsville eighth.
