What's Happening?
Sting's musical 'The Last Ship' is set to premiere in Australia with a special addition to its cast. International reggae artist Shaggy will join Sting in the production, performing at Brisbane's new Glasshouse Theatre from April 9th to May 3rd, 2026.
The musical, inspired by Sting's childhood in Wallsend, England, tells the story of a shipbuilding community facing the closure of its yard. Shaggy will play the role of the Wallsend ferryman, marking a unique collaboration between the two artists who have previously worked together on a Grammy-winning album. The production will feature a cast of 48 performers, musicians, and choristers.
