Pensana, a London-listed company, has received the first $15 million tranche from Cascade Natural Resources as part of a $165 million strategic investment. This initial investment grants Cascade a 3.8% stake in Pensana through 13.99 million shares. Additionally,
Cascade will invest $150 million into Pensana's subsidiary, Sable Min Unipessoal, which holds a majority stake in Ozango Minerais, the developer of the Longonjo rare earth mine in Angola. This investment will give Cascade a 38.2% interest in Sable. The funds will support the development of the Longonjo mine, including the addition of a heavy rare earth circuit and expansion of the resource base to a target of one billion tonnes. Pensana aims to establish a fully integrated US mine-to-magnet supply chain, with first production scheduled for 2027.
