The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced that Daniel Harding will become its next music director, starting in the 2027/28 season with an initial six-year contract. Harding, a British conductor, will succeed Gustavo Dudamel, who has been the music director since
2009 and will leave the role in August 2026 to join the New York Philharmonic.
