Stefan Weckbach has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Mercedes-AMG, effective July 1, 2026. Currently serving as Head of Group Strategy at Volkswagen, Weckbach will also oversee the Top End Vehicle
Group, which includes Mercedes-Maybach and G-Class. His extensive experience in product strategy and luxury vehicle development at Porsche and Volkswagen positions him as a strong leader for Mercedes-AMG. Jörg Burzer, a member of the Board of Management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, praised Weckbach's strategic capabilities and product knowledge. Until Weckbach assumes his role, Michael Schiebe will continue to manage Mercedes-AMG on an interim basis.
