What's Happening?
The EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh is bringing back the 'Wings on Strings' kite event on May 30, after a hiatus of over ten years. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is included with regular museum admission. Attendees can participate in kite-building
activities in the museum's Founders Wing and fly their creations at Pioneer Airport. The Wisconsin Kiters Club will provide demonstrations of unique kite designs throughout the day. The event will conclude with a hot air balloon glow, weather permitting.
Why It's Important?
The revival of the 'Wings on Strings' event is significant for the EAA Aviation Museum and the local community, as it offers a unique family-friendly activity that combines creativity and aviation. The event is expected to attract both local residents and visitors, boosting attendance at the museum and supporting local tourism. It also provides an opportunity for community engagement and education about aviation and kite flying. The event's return reflects a broader trend of reviving traditional community events to foster social connections and cultural heritage.
