Palm Beach, Florida, Woods has been instrumental in his high school team's success, contributing to two state championships. His decision to attend Florida State keeps him in his home state, aligning with his achievements in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), where he won his first title last May and was named to the All-America First Team. Woods is ranked 21st in AJGA rankings for his class and will join top-ranked Miles Russell, who committed to Florida State last June.
