The 11th Asian World Film Festival concluded with the announcement of its winners in Culver City. The Lebanese feature 'A Sad and Beautiful World,' directed by Cyril Aris, won the Snow Leopard for best film. The Taiwanese film 'Left-Handed Girl,' directed by Shih-Ching Tsou, received the Snow Leopard Audience Award. The festival showcased 46 features and 27 shorts from over 30 Asian countries, emphasizing the strength and diversity of Asian cinema. Vishal Jethwa and Tandin Bidha were recognized for their performances in 'Homebound' and 'I, the Song,' respectively. The festival highlighted Asia's contribution to global cinema, with executive director Georges N. Chamchoum praising the quality and craft of the showcased works.
