What's Happening?
Aurum Resources has announced significant high-grade gold findings at its Boundiali Gold Project in Ivory Coast. The discovery is part of an extensive drilling program in the BMT3 area, aimed at expanding the known gold resources at the site. Recent drilling results revealed 10.15 meters of gold grading 6.05 grams per ton at a depth of 125.5 meters, with a higher-grade section of 3.60 meters at 13.88 grams per ton. Additional findings include 2.20 meters at 23.65 grams per ton and 1.50 meters at 12.96 grams per ton. The company has increased its drilling capacity by adding two more rigs, totaling 12, and plans to complete up to 130,000 meters of drilling at Boundiali and the nearby Napié project by 2025. Aurum Resources intends to release updated
gold resource figures and a pre-feasibility study for Boundiali in the first quarter of 2026.
Why It's Important?
The discovery of high-grade gold at the Boundiali Project is significant for Aurum Resources and the broader mining industry in Ivory Coast. This development could enhance the company's resource base, potentially leading to increased production and economic benefits for the region. The expansion of drilling operations and the planned release of updated resource figures and a pre-feasibility study indicate a commitment to advancing the project towards development. This could attract further investment and boost local employment, contributing to the economic growth of Ivory Coast. Additionally, the findings may influence global gold markets by potentially increasing supply, impacting gold prices and related industries.
What's Next?
Aurum Resources plans to continue its drilling program to further delineate the gold resources at Boundiali. The company is expected to release updated resource figures and a pre-feasibility study in early 2026, which will assess development options for the project. These steps are crucial for determining the project's viability and potential economic impact. Stakeholders, including investors and local communities, will be closely monitoring these developments. The success of the project could lead to increased exploration activities in the region, potentially transforming Ivory Coast into a more prominent player in the global gold mining industry.
