Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province has announced a new training initiative aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into the manufacturing sector. The program, titled '2026 Practical AI Utilization
Training for Manufacturing Employees,' is designed to support the AI transformation of local manufacturing companies. The training, organized by the Pyeongtaek Industry Promotion Agency in collaboration with Korea University of Technology and Education and Hankyung National University, will run from May to October. It is structured into four stages, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, and focuses on practical applications of AI in manufacturing settings. Participants will learn about manufacturing data analysis, process automation, and the development of site-specialized engineering chatbots using large language model (LLM) and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) technologies. The program is open to employees of manufacturing companies in Pyeongtaek and prospective entrepreneurs residing in the area.
