SpaceX has revealed the design of its first orbital AI data center satellite, named AI1. This satellite is part of a planned constellation aimed at performing artificial intelligence computing in Earth's orbit. The AI1 satellite features a compute payload
with an average power of 120 kilowatts and a peak of 150 kilowatts, supported by a solar wingspan of approximately 70 meters. Operating at an altitude of about 600 kilometers, this initiative is linked to SpaceX's broader strategy to enhance AI computing capabilities in space, complementing its chip-fabrication plans announced earlier this year.
