VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has developed the VIKING Helix Marine Evacuation System (MES), designed to enhance evacuation efficiency on passenger ships. The system features a helix-type slide that can accommodate 4-8 people simultaneously, facilitating
the evacuation of up to 477 individuals within 30 minutes. It includes a unique bowsing system that minimizes crew involvement, allowing for a controlled descent into life rafts. Certified by DNV, the system is suitable for various vessel configurations, particularly larger ferries and mid-size cruise ships. The Helix MES aims to improve operational speed, simplicity, and safety during evacuations.
