The University of Louisville's football program has successfully secured a commitment from Josiah Pouncy, a two-way athlete from Cincinnati, Ohio. Pouncy, who plays primarily as a linebacker and occasionally as a wide receiver, announced his verbal commitment to the Cardinals. He is the second player from the 2027 class to commit to Louisville on the same day, joining defensive lineman Cornelius Tims III. Pouncy chose Louisville over several other offers from schools such as Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Tennessee. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 207 pounds, Pouncy is ranked as the No. 23 athlete in the 2027 cycle by On3/Rivals and is the No. 738 prospect overall according to Rivals Industry Rankings. Pouncy was a standout player, recording 186 total tackles, 42 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and an interception returned for a touchdown, leading his team to an 11-1 record.
