What's Happening?
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that its 2027 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in Xiamen, China, hosted by Xiamen Airlines. The event is scheduled for May 30 to June 1, 2027, marking the third time the AGM will be held in China.
The announcement was made during the current AGM in Rio de Janeiro, which is hosted by LATAM. Willie Walsh, IATA's outgoing Director General, emphasized the significance of hosting the AGM in China, highlighting the country's impressive aviation market development. Additionally, Pegasus Airlines Chair Mehmet Tevfik Nane will succeed LATAM Airlines Group CEO Roberto Alvo as IATA Chair from June 2027.
