What's Happening?
EV Resources has engaged Perforaciones Mineras Estrella to conduct drilling at its Los Lirios Antimony Project in Mexico. The company plans to undertake a minimum of 1,000 meters of diamond drilling, with the potential to extend to 2,000 meters, focusing on antimony mineralization beneath historical workings at the Lirios Fault Zone. This phase one campaign aims to establish a maiden JORC-compliant resource, moving the project towards near-term production. CEO Mike Brown emphasized the importance of this drilling campaign as a critical step in unlocking the project's broader potential, despite previous delays in sampling due to assay methodology challenges.
Why It's Important?
The initiation of drilling at the Los Lirios Antimony Project marks a significant step
for EV Resources in advancing its exploration and production capabilities. Antimony is a critical mineral with applications in various industries, including electronics and flame retardants, making this project strategically important. Successfully establishing a JORC-compliant resource could enhance the company's market position and attract further investment. The project also highlights the growing interest in critical minerals, driven by global demand for sustainable and secure supply chains. This development could have broader implications for the mining sector, particularly in terms of resource diversification and technological advancements in mineral extraction.
