was resolved by 4:30 p.m. PT. The disruption was reported by CNET staffers in Seattle, Sacramento, and Los Angeles, with varying experiences of the outage. In some cases, users were unable to access the site at all, while others could log in and use the service after initial difficulties. The outage was tracked by DownDetector, which reported a significant spike in error reports, particularly affecting major U.S. hubs. Over 3,000 reports were processed, with ChatGPT services accounting for 78% of these. The peak number of reports at one time was 788. OpenAI has not yet commented on the cause of the outage.
