After a six-year hiatus, H&M has announced the return of its prestigious Design Award, aimed at supporting emerging international fashion designers. The award provides financial resources and intensive
mentoring to help young designers launch their careers. The competition is open to BA and MA students from over 60 fashion schools across 25 countries, including new participants from Australia, Mexico, Poland, Spain, and Colombia. The winner will receive a prize of 150,000 euros (approximately 179,800 dollars) and a year of tailored mentorship in sustainability, circularity, production, and marketing. Additionally, the winning collection will be produced and sold worldwide in selected H&M stores and online. Eight finalists will each receive 10,000 euros. The award targets designers who excel in creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship, with a strong vision for sustainability and breaking industry conventions.
