Max McEnelly, a standout wrestler for the University of Minnesota, made history by becoming the first in the program to win a national title in the 184-pound division. Competing in Cleveland, Ohio, McEnelly defeated Penn State's Rocco Welsh, the top seed,
with a 4-3 victory. This win marks McEnelly as the 19th Gopher to achieve an individual national title, and the first non-heavyweight since 2010. His success contributes to Minnesota's ninth-place finish in the team standings at the NCAA Championships.
