What's Happening?
Borealis Mining Company Limited has commenced a 5,000 metre drilling program at its Sandman Gold Project in Humboldt County, Nevada. The program aims to advance the project toward development through metallurgical and geotechnical testing, supporting
future engineering studies, mine planning, and permitting activities. The initial phase will focus on the Silica Ridge, North Hill, Abel Knoll, and Southeast Pediment deposits, with subsequent drilling targeting resource expansion and exploration opportunities. The Sandman project hosts a pit-constrained mineral resource with 433,000 ounces of gold in the Indicated category and 60,800 ounces in the Inferred category.
Why It's Important?
The drilling program is a critical step in advancing the Sandman project, which has demonstrated robust economics in a recent Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). The project's potential for resource expansion and exploration upside positions it as a compelling growth asset within Borealis' Nevada portfolio. The focus on metallurgical and geotechnical testing will provide essential data for evaluating future development scenarios and advancing the project through key engineering and permitting milestones. The successful execution of this program could enhance the project's value and attract investor interest.
What's Next?
Borealis plans to allocate additional drilling meters toward resource expansion and exploration following the completion of the initial phase. The company aims to test extensions of known mineralization and evaluate high-priority exploration targets. The data generated from the drilling program will support future technical studies and help define a potential pathway toward production. Borealis will provide updates as drilling progresses and analytical results become available, with the goal of advancing the Sandman project toward development and unlocking additional value.
