The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has conducted an early test of a new AI agent developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS), known as a 'frontier' agent. This AI agent, showcased at AWS's re:Invent conference,
is designed to autonomously manage complex tasks typically handled by DevOps engineers. During testing, the AI agent successfully identified the root cause of a complex network and identity management issue in under 15 minutes, a task that would usually take a human engineer hours. CBA's head of cloud services, Jason Sandery, noted that the agent acts like a seasoned engineer, enhancing the bank's infrastructure resilience and customer experience.
