The Essex Rebels organized a sports showcase at the University of Essex to celebrate International Women's Day. The event featured two days of basketball and volleyball fixtures at the Essex Sport Arena on the Colchester Campus. The showcase aimed to honor
women in sports and included a 'Her World, Her Rules' basketball clinic for girls aged seven to 14, where approximately 50 participants trained with Rebels players. The event also included a networking session titled 'Lead Like a Rebel,' opened by University of Essex vice-chancellor Professor Frances Bowen, which brought together women in sport. The Rebels women's basketball team secured a victory against Newcastle Eagles with a score of 92-79, while the men's team defeated Hemel Storm 99-93. In volleyball, the women's team triumphed over Sideout Polonia 3-0, although the men's team lost to London Giants 0-3.
