This initiative comes in anticipation of significant EU customs changes set to take effect on July 1, 2026, which include the removal of the €150 duty-free threshold and the introduction of a €3 flat customs charge on low-value parcels. These changes are expected to increase costs for UK retailers, especially in high-return sectors like fashion. ZigZag's research indicates that 24% of clothing purchases were returned in 2025, underscoring the financial impact of returns in cross-border ecommerce.
