The South East European Film Festival (SEEfest) has announced its 2026 lineup, set to run from April 29 to May 6 in Los Angeles. The festival will open with 'Catane,' a comedy-romance directed by Ioana Mischie, described as a modern-day fairytale set in Romania.
SEEfest, co-presented by the foundation for European Languages and Movies in America (ELMA), was founded in 2006 by Vera Mijojlić to showcase South and Eastern European cinema in the U.S. This year's lineup includes a variety of films from different genres and countries, such as the Croatian narrative feature 'Honey Bunny' by Igor Jelinovic and the Slovenian film 'Fantasy' by Katarina Resek. The festival will also feature documentaries like 'Militantropos,' which explores the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and 'The Beauty Of The Donkey,' a Kosovo-Swiss production that blends cinema verité with magical realism.
