Singapore has been ranked 177th out of 193 countries in the 2026 Global Outsourcing Talent Index by Ataraxis, a firm specializing in offshore talent and virtual assistants. This ranking places Singapore last among Southeast Asian markets. The index evaluates
countries based on five variables: labor cost, English language proficiency, talent availability, digital infrastructure, and political stability. Singapore scored a perfect 100 in English proficiency but only 46 in labor cost, which significantly impacts its competitiveness in outsourcing. The Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia ranked in the top 10 globally, with the Philippines taking the top spot. These countries outperformed not only Singapore but also major economies like China, the United States, and EU member states.
