Corona Centennial High School's girls' basketball team clinched the Division I state championship with a 73-66 victory over Clovis at the Golden 1 Center. The win was significantly bolstered by the return of 6-foot-7 Sydney Douglas, who had been sidelined
due to a finger injury for 11 games. Douglas contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds. Her teammate, McDonald’s All-American Cydnee Bryant, added 13 points and 13 rebounds. Armanyie Reed also played a crucial role, scoring a career-high 25 points. Despite Clovis's strong three-point shooting, including a record seven threes by Yazmin Aguilera, Centennial's effective free-throw shooting, making 18 of 19 attempts, helped secure their victory.
