What's Happening?
MetTel has successfully completed a network capacity upgrade for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) under the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contract. This initiative involved equipping 11 GSA offices across the United States with
Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) technology, 22 new high-capacity network circuits, and Voice over IP services. The upgrade supports the Administration's return-to-office mandate, enabling federal employees to work in fully connected, high-performance environments. The SD-WAN technology provides intelligent traffic management and enhanced resiliency, while the high-capacity circuits are tailored to the specific needs of each site.
Why It's Important?
The network upgrade by MetTel is a crucial step in modernizing the telecommunications and network infrastructure of federal agencies. This development ensures that GSA offices can handle increased bandwidth demands, which are essential for mission-critical government services. The upgrade supports the Administration's efforts to bring federal employees back to the office, facilitating a seamless transition to in-person work environments. By enhancing network capabilities, MetTel is contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations, potentially setting a precedent for similar upgrades across other federal agencies.
