What's Happening?
Pharrell Williams, in collaboration with Reebok, is set to re-release one of his iconic sneaker models from the early 2000s under the Ice Cream sublabel of Billionaire Boys Club. The Ice Cream x Reebok Board Flip sneakers, originally launched in 2005,
will be available in two colorways: 'Pink Lemonade' and 'Watermelon'. These sneakers feature a distinctive design with a T-toe overlay, fat tongue, and the 'Cones and Bones' logo. The 'Pink Lemonade' edition includes a perforated leather base with red suede overlays, while the 'Watermelon' version emphasizes suede with a green base and pink accents. The sneakers will be available on May 1 through BBC Ice Cream's website and stores, followed by a release on Reebok's website on May 6, priced at $150.
Why It's Important?
The re-release of the Ice Cream x Reebok Board Flip sneakers highlights the enduring appeal of early 2000s fashion and the continued influence of Pharrell Williams in the sneaker industry. This collaboration not only revives a nostalgic product for fans but also strengthens the partnership between Reebok and Ice Cream, which has seen intermittent collaborations since 2004. The release is likely to attract both sneaker enthusiasts and collectors, potentially boosting sales and brand visibility for both Reebok and Ice Cream. Additionally, the collaboration underscores the trend of major brands revisiting and revitalizing past successful products to capture the interest of both new and existing customers.
