Garo Ohannessian, a senior at AGBU, an Armenian K-12 school in Canoga Park, has made a significant impact in high school basketball with his exceptional three-point shooting skills. Recently, he set a school record by making 13 three-pointers and scoring a career-high 45 points in a game against Brawley on December 30. Ohannessian, who has been a four-year varsity player, has helped lead his team to a 13-2 record this season. His coach, Nareg Kopooshian, has expressed confidence in Ohannessian's ability to shoot from anywhere on the court, contributing significantly to the team's success.
Why It's Important?
Ohannessian's performance highlights the importance of individual talent in team sports, particularly in high school basketball. His ability to consistently
score from beyond the arc provides a strategic advantage for AGBU, making them a formidable opponent in their league. This achievement not only boosts the team's morale but also sets a high standard for future players at the school. Additionally, Ohannessian's success could attract attention from college scouts, potentially opening up opportunities for him to play at the collegiate level.
