What's Happening?
Mkango Resources, in collaboration with HyProMag, has completed the first commissioning runs of a commercial-scale hydrogen processing of magnet scrap vessel at a rare earth magnet recycling and manufacturing plant in Germany. The facility is designed
to produce up to 750 tonnes per year of neodymium-iron-boron magnets and alloys. This development is part of Mkango's strategy to expand its rare earth supply chain capabilities, with similar projects underway in the UK and US. The company aims to provide a comprehensive solution for rare earth products, leveraging its mining and separation projects in Malawi and Poland. The initiative is seen as a significant step towards enhancing Europe's strategic autonomy in rare earth supply.
