Carnival Cruise Line has revamped its private island in the Bahamas, now named RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, to enhance guest experiences and accommodate larger ships. The island, part of Carnival's Paradise Collection, features new amenities such as a pier,
tram service, eateries, and complimentary loungers and umbrellas. The upgrades were unveiled on June 1, 2026, with the Carnival Sunrise ship's passengers being the first to explore the newly developed north side. The island can now accommodate two ships docked at the pier and one via tender boats. Carnival President Christine Duffy highlighted the island's relaxed atmosphere compared to other destinations, emphasizing the natural beauty of the beach and turquoise waters.

Carnival plans to limit capacity at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, through September as operations ramp up. The cruise line is also exploring further expansions at other private destinations, such as Isla Tropicale in Honduras. Additional investments are planned for Celebration Key, another destination in the Paradise Collection. These developments are part of Carnival's broader strategy to enhance its portfolio of exclusive destinations, ensuring they can accommodate the larger ships being introduced to their fleet.
