What's Happening?
Aboitiz Economic Estates has initiated a skills training program in partnership with the Tarlac City Government and Aboitiz Foundation to prepare a skilled workforce for its TARI Estate. This initiative aims to equip local residents with construction
skills necessary for ongoing site development and future roles in manufacturing, logistics, and services. The program is designed to address workforce readiness, a critical factor for attracting investors to new industrial areas. By training workers ahead of demand, Aboitiz seeks to eliminate hiring bottlenecks for incoming businesses, thereby supporting job creation and regional growth in Central Luzon.
Why It's Important?
The skills training program is significant as it addresses the dual challenge of immediate employment and long-term workforce development. For investors, having access to a trained local workforce reduces recruitment costs and accelerates operational timelines. For the local community, it provides faster job access and enhances employability. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to create a complete ecosystem where businesses can scale confidently, and communities benefit directly from industrial growth. The strategic location of TARI Estate, with its proximity to major transport hubs, further enhances its appeal as a manufacturing and logistics hub.
What's Next?
The TARI Estate is projected to generate over 60,000 jobs at full build-out, indicating significant economic growth potential for the region. The skills training initiative is expected to continue expanding, aligning with Aboitiz's strategy to build not just industrial land but a comprehensive ecosystem for business and community development. As the estate develops, ongoing collaboration with local government and educational institutions will be crucial to ensure the workforce remains aligned with industry needs.
