Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) has reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria's sugar self-sufficiency initiative. This announcement came during a visit by John Enoh, Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, to the Sunti Golden Sugar Estate in Niger State.
The visit is part of the National Sugar Master Plan and the Backward Integration Programme, which aim to reduce Nigeria's reliance on imported sugar by boosting local production. The Sunti estate, operated by Golden Sugar Company, is a significant contributor to this national plan and employs up to 4,500 workers during peak periods.
