What's Happening?
Bose has launched a new line of AirPlay-compatible speakers under the revived Lifestyle branding, originally introduced in 1990. The new lineup includes the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, Soundbar, and Subwoofer, designed to compete with Apple's HomePod.
The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, priced between $299 and $349, aims to deliver room-filling sound from a compact design, featuring advanced audio technologies like TrueSpatial audio processing and CleanBass technology. The speakers support both Apple AirPlay and Google Cast, offering wireless multiroom capabilities. Pre-orders are available now, with deliveries starting May 15.
Why It's Important?
The reintroduction of the Lifestyle branding by Bose signifies a strategic move to capture the market segment interested in high-quality, stylish audio solutions. By targeting the HomePod market, Bose is positioning itself as a strong competitor in the smart speaker arena, leveraging its legacy of audio excellence. This development could influence consumer choices, especially among those who value both aesthetics and performance in home audio systems. The competition between Bose and Apple in this space may drive innovation and potentially lead to more advanced features and competitive pricing in the smart speaker market.
