What's Happening?
Franks Portlock Consulting, an environmental consultancy based in Sunderland, has secured a six-figure investment from NPIF II – FW Capital Debt Finance to support its relocation to a new headquarters
at Hylton Park. The move involves a £220,000 project to expand into a larger 5720 square foot facility, which will include private meeting rooms, training facilities, collaborative breakout areas, and enhanced laboratory capabilities. This expansion is part of the company's long-term growth strategy, supported by a new ten-year lease. The company, founded in 2006, has grown from a two-person operation to a national consultancy with over 110 employees, providing asbestos and water hygiene management services across various sectors.
Why It's Important?
The investment and expansion of Franks Portlock Consulting highlight the growing demand for environmental management services in the UK. By increasing its capacity and capabilities, the company is better positioned to meet the needs of industries such as marine, nuclear, healthcare, and residential. This move also reflects a broader trend of businesses investing in infrastructure to support growth and innovation. The funding from NPIF II underscores the importance of financial support in enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to scale operations and enhance their competitive edge in the market.
What's Next?
With the new headquarters, Franks Portlock is set to enhance its service offerings and expand its client base. The company plans to leverage its upgraded facilities to support its growing team and continue delivering high standards of consultancy and environmental management services. The expansion is expected to create new opportunities for collaboration and innovation, positioning Franks Portlock for further growth in the coming years.
