The Garden Club of Beverly Morgan Park is celebrating its 100th anniversary, marking a century of community involvement and beautification efforts. Originally formed in 1926 as the Morgan Park Garden Club, it became a charter member of The Garden Club of Illinois in 1927. The club has grown from its early days of 20 women members to a diverse group of 103 members, including 14 men. To commemorate the milestone, club member Eileen Quirk Rowan created a still life picture of over 100 knit and crochet flowers, which is being displayed at local businesses. The club has planned a series of events throughout the year, including presentations on 1920s gardening, a field trip to Morton Arboretum, and participation in the 100th annual Morgan Park/Beverly
Memorial Day Parade. The club's history is rich with community service, from planting victory gardens during World War II to maintaining pollinator gardens today.
