The Minnesota Wild has signed defenseman Viking Gustafsson Nyberg to an amateur tryout agreement. Gustafsson Nyberg, a 22-year-old from Stockholm, Sweden, will join the Iowa Wild, the American Hockey League
(AHL) affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. During his recent season with the University of Connecticut, he recorded 11 assists and 47 shots in 37 games, leading his team with a plus-18 rating. His collegiate career also includes a stint at Northern Michigan and two seasons with Leksands IF J20 in the Swedish Junior League.
