BasicNet, an Italian fashion company, has acquired Woolrich and Sundek, adding them to its portfolio alongside brands like Kappa and Superga. Marco Tamponi, the global brand manager, outlined future strategies
for these brands at the Pitti Uomo trade fair. Woolrich, founded in 1830 in Pennsylvania, will focus on its heritage by emphasizing wool, a natural and sustainable fiber, in its upcoming collections. This shift marks a departure from the use of technical fibers like nylon. Sundek, known for its surf culture roots, will relaunch with a collection inspired by the rebellious spirit of surfing in the 1950s and 1960s. The new line will feature vibrant colors and a 'salty, faded-from-use' aesthetic, aiming to evoke the brand's original DNA.
