The Syndeo Institute at The Cable Center has announced that Thomas M. Rutledge, Director Emeritus and former President and CEO of Charter Communications, will receive the 2026 Bresnan Ethics in Business Award. This prestigious award, named after William J. Bresnan, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional ethical leadership in the cable industry. Rutledge, who retired as CEO of Charter Communications in 2022, played a pivotal role in the company's expansion through mergers with Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, and Optimum West. Under his leadership, Charter Communications also developed an all-digital cable TV and streaming video platform, gigabit broadband connections, and a competitive mobile offering. The award will be
presented at the 29th annual Cable Hall of Fame celebration on April 23, 2026, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.
