Starfish Space has successfully closed a Series B funding round exceeding $100 million, led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Activate Capital, Shield Capital, and other investors. This funding will support the development and deployment of
Starfish's Otter spacecraft, designed for in-space servicing. The company has secured a $37.5 million contract with the Department of Defense to build an Otter spacecraft and a $52.5 million contract with the Space Force to deorbit satellites from the SDA Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture constellation at the end of their life. Starfish's Otter Pup 2 mission is currently in orbit, aiming to dock with a partner satellite.
