What's Happening?
Manchester City FC has announced the allocation of 3001 tickets for an upcoming match, including 30 wheelchair bays and tickets for ambulant fans. These tickets will be issued as mobile tickets and are expected to be sent out no later than three days
before the game. The club has emphasized that each ticket is personal to the holder and non-transferable, with entry potentially refused for those attempting to use tickets issued in someone else's name. Additionally, Everton has stated that children under the age of 14 will not be permitted to enter the stadium without an adult. The majority of the visiting fan area is now designated as a licensed standing area.
Why It's Important?
The allocation of tickets and the emphasis on mobile ticketing reflect ongoing efforts to streamline access and enhance security at sporting events. By ensuring tickets are non-transferable and conducting checks on matchday, clubs aim to prevent unauthorized entry and ticket fraud. The policy regarding children under 14 highlights a commitment to safety and responsible attendance. The introduction of licensed standing areas may also indicate a shift towards accommodating different fan experiences while maintaining safety standards.
