The BBC has announced the casting for its upcoming series 'Hamburg Days,' which will explore The Beatles' early years in Germany. Rhys Mannion will portray John Lennon, Ellis Murphy as Paul McCartney, Harvey Brett as George Harrison, and Louis Landau
as Stu Sutcliffe. The series, produced by W&B Television and Turbine Studios, will depict the band's formative period in the 1960s, focusing on their time in Hamburg's nightclub scene. The show is inspired by Klaus Voorman's autobiography and is currently being filmed in Hamburg, Munich, and Liverpool. The series is part of a broader interest in The Beatles' history, coinciding with a separate film project by Sony.
