GKIDS has acquired the U.S. distribution rights for 'Labyrinth,' an original anime film directed by Shoji Kawamori. Known for his work on 'Macross' and 'The Vision of Escaflowne,' Kawamori's latest project features a screenplay by Taishi Hashimoto. The film will be shown in theaters for two nights in May 2026, both in Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English. 'Labyrinth' follows the story of Shiori, a high school student who becomes trapped in her smartphone and must navigate a digital world to reclaim her life. The film features voice performances by Atarashii Gakko's Suzuka and music by Yonkey.
