A recent analysis by Consumer Reports has identified Costco as the leading grocery store in El Paso, Texas, for offering the cheapest groceries, surpassing Walmart by 21.4%. The study used Walmart's prices as a baseline and found that several other stores,
including BJ's and Lidl, also offered significant savings. BJ's prices were 21% lower, Lidl's were 8.5% lower, Aldi's were 8.3% lower, and Winco's were 3.3% lower than Walmart's. The analysis was conducted by sending shoppers into select metro areas to compare prices within a 48-hour period, factoring in sales prices and discounts but excluding manufacturer coupons and app-based savings. Whole Foods was identified as the most expensive, with prices 39.7% higher than Walmart.
