What's Happening?
The American Innovation Project (AIP) has announced the addition of Jacob Smagula, a crypto policy specialist, to its team. Smagula, a recent graduate of Claremont McKenna College, brings experience from the crypto industry and government relations. He
will join Representative Ritchie Torres' team as part of AIP's Policy Innovation Fellowship. The fellowship aims to provide congressional staff with hands-on exposure to emerging technologies, including digital assets.
Why It's Important?
The inclusion of crypto policy specialists in legislative teams reflects the growing importance of digital assets in shaping economic and regulatory landscapes. As technology continues to evolve, it is crucial for policymakers to understand its implications on national security and the economy. AIP's initiative to integrate tech-savvy graduates into congressional roles highlights the need for informed decision-making in crafting sound tech policies that will impact the U.S. role in AI, crypto, and other sectors.
