In a series of regional qualifier games held on June 1, 2026, four Section V high school softball teams emerged victorious, extending their season and earning the right to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA)
playoffs. The games featured champions from different sectional brackets within Section V, competing in classifications AA, B, C, and D. Notably, Penfield High School triumphed over Pittsford Sutherland in Class AA, with Claire Maley's grand slam playing a pivotal role in their 8-6 victory. In Class B, Avon High School continued its impressive run by defeating Waterloo 6-1, thanks to standout performances from Jessie Crye and Payton Rice. Caledonia-Mumford secured an 18-6 win over Letchworth in Class C, highlighted by Colleen Talty's cycle. Lastly, Oakfield-Alabama dominated Avoca/Prattsburgh 13-1 in the Class D qualifier. These victories allow the winning teams to advance to the NYSPHSAA regionals scheduled for June 3.
