Firestorm Labs, a company specializing in portable drone manufacturing systems, has successfully raised $82 million in a Series B funding round. The funding will be used to accelerate the production of
its xCell platform, which utilizes three-dimensional printing techniques and off-the-grid power sources to produce unmanned systems and components. The Series B round was led by Washington Harbour Partners, with participation from Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, and In-Q-Tel, among others. Firestorm Labs, which began operations in 2022, aims to address supply chain vulnerabilities by enabling rapid drone production in expeditionary locations. The company is also working under a $100 million Air Force contract focused on additively manufactured drones.
